As the sun began to rise over the picturesque city of Milan, we found ourselves filled with excitement and anticipation for the day’s adventure ahead as we embark on a journey aboard the renowned Bernina Express, one of the most scenic train rides in the world, taking us from the bustling Italian city to the charming Swiss Alpine town of St. Moritz.
We boarded the sleek red train at Tonino station, and as it pulled out of the station, we settled into our comfortable seats and eagerly awaited the breathtaking landscapes that awaited us . The journey promised to be a feast for the eyes, traversing through the stunning Swiss Alps and offering panoramic views of majestic glaciers, snow-capped peaks, emerald lakes, and charming mountain villages.
As the train climbed higher into the mountains, the scenery outside our window became increasingly awe-inspiring. The train curved along steep ravines and crossed impressive viaducts, offering heart-stopping vistas that left me spellbound. Each bend in the track brought a new visual delight, and we couldn’t help but marvel at the engineering feat that made this stunning railway possible.
One of the highlights of the journey was crossing the Landwasser Viaduct, a striking structure that gracefully spans a deep gorge. The sight of the red train against the backdrop of the Swiss Alps was truly a sight to behold and a moment we captured to treasure forever.
As the train reached the highest point of the journey, the Bernina Pass, we felt a sense of awe and wonder. The train made a brief stop at Alp Grüm, and we could feel the breathtaking glaciers were within arm’s reach. It was a surreal experience, and we were grateful for the chance to be so close to such pristine natural beauty.
Continuing the journey, we descended into the Engadin Valley, passing through quaint Swiss villages with charming wooden houses and blooming flower gardens. Finally, the train arrived at its destination, St. Moritz, a world-famous resort town known for its elegance and Alpine splendour. we disembarked with a sense of contentment, knowing that we had just experienced a truly unforgettable train journey.
The Bernina Express took us on an unforgettable adventure through some of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth. It was a testament to the marvels of engineering and a reminder of the breathtaking beauty of nature. This journey would forever hold a special place in my heart, and we felt grateful to have been a part of this magical experience from Milan to St. Moritz.
