Sure Tale Borsho Bidaye

A Soulful Farewell to the Bengali Calendar Year with Monomoy Bhattacharya

As the Bengali Calender slowly drew to a close, we found ourselves wrapped in the comforting embrace of music, at a stunningly curated evening titled “Sure Tale Borsho Bidaye”. The air was thick with anticipation, and as the lights dimmed, the first notes rose soft, haunting, and poetic. It was Monomoy Bhattacharya, and from that moment, time seemed to pause.

He started with “Tumi Sandhyar Meghomala”, a song that encapsulated the spirit of the season and the sentiment of parting. What followed was a mesmerizing fusion of Tagore’s introspection with the melodically rich works of Salil Choudhury bringing out the dramatic flair and musical brilliance of Salilda’s compositions. Each song was not merely performed—it was relived, and given new life through Monomoy’s distinctive voice.

Then, like a sudden breeze that brings in the scent of a distant memory, the evening took an
unexpected yet seamless turn into the realm of Hindi melodies. Monomoy’s rendition of Bhupinder Singh’s “Ek Akela Is Shehar Mein” was intimate and stirring. And just when we thought the evening had offered all its jewels, he lifted the mood with the romantic charm of Mohammad Rafi’s “Diwana Hua Badal”. Delivered with grace and heartfelt nostalgia, the classic brought smiles, sighs, and that collective moment of joy to the entire audience.

Le Rythme’s “Sure Tale Borsho Bidaye” wasn’t just a concert; it was a journey—through seasons, sounds, and sentiments.

As the evening drew to a close, Monomoy Bhattacharya gifted the audience one final gem—his beloved hit “Mon Re Mon – Ore Udas Baul Mon.” The raw emotion in his voice, paired with the lyrical composition, wrapped the entire concert in a soulful embrace.

Finally – a heartfelt Thank you to Le Rhythme for not only curating such a soul-enriching evening but also for their unwavering commitment to creating a meaningful impact.
